Fingerprint-Based Background Checks for Illinois Employers

A name-based search can miss records filed under a different name or date of birth. A fingerprint-based check matches the person to the record. We capture prints on an Illinois-licensed live-scan system and submit them for the check your role requires.

State-only vs. state + FBI

Most private Illinois employers can request Illinois conviction information. A national FBI fingerprint check is only released to employers that a law specifically authorizes — regulated industries such as private security, cannabis, schools, and organizations serving children or vulnerable adults. If you’re not sure which applies, call us; we’ll tell you which check your role normally uses and which agency to confirm it with.

Illinois rules employers should know

Illinois limits when and how employers can use criminal history. Employers with 15 or more employees generally can’t ask about criminal history until after an interview or a conditional offer, and an employer considering a conviction must follow the Illinois Human Rights Act notice process before deciding. 3. Send people our way: walk-ins to our Naperville office, or schedule an on-site session at your location for a group.
4. One monthly invoice for everything — no applicant pays at the counter and nobody chases receipts for reimbursement.

No. We are an Illinois-licensed fingerprint vendor and an FBI-approved channeler. We capture and submit fingerprints; the Illinois State Police and FBI run the checks and return results to the authorized requestor.

Can we get FBI results for any job?
Only if a law authorizes FBI checks for your organization or the role. Otherwise you can request Illinois conviction information, and the applicant can obtain and share their own FBI record.

Can we get monthly invoicing instead of employees paying?
