I-9 Employment Verification in Naperville, IL
Authorized Representative for Remote & New Hires
Starting a new job remotely, or hiring someone who can't come to your HR office? Federal law still requires that a new employee's original identity and work-authorization documents be examined in person, and that Section 2 of Form I-9 be completed within 3 business days of the start date. Efficient Biometrics acts as the employer's designated authorized representative: we meet the employee, review the original documents, and complete and sign Section 2 — then return the finished form the same day.
Who this is for
- Remote employees starting a new job who were told to "get your I-9 completed"
- Employers and HR teams hiring out-of-area staff with no local office
- Staffing and recruiting agencies placing workers across locations
- Healthcare, tech, and other organizations onboarding remote hires
How it works
- Employer sends instructions. Your employer emails us the blank Form I-9 (or their instructions) and where to return the completed form.
- Employee brings original documents. Come in person with your original, unexpired documents — either one document from List A, or one from List B plus one from List C. See the official USCIS List of Acceptable Documents.
- We complete & return Section 2. We examine the documents, fill out and sign Section 2 as your employer's authorized representative, and send the completed form back to your employer the same day.
Turnaround
Appointments take about 15–20 minutes. Section 2 is completed and returned to your employer the same day, well within the federal 3-business-day deadline. Same-day and mobile appointments are available.
Pricing
In-office I-9 verification starts at $75 (you come to our Naperville location). Mobile / on-site visits and volume pricing for employers and staffing agencies are quoted based on location and number of employees — call or text 847-436-5222 for a quote.
Why choose Efficient Biometrics
- A real, US-based business with a physical Naperville office and a published phone number — not an offshore middleman
- In-person examination done correctly, so your I-9 holds up to an audit
- Same-day completion and return, every time
- Mobile service available; volume accounts welcome for employers
- We also handle notary, fingerprinting, and apostille — one trusted vendor for onboarding paperwork
Please note: Completing an I-9 as an authorized representative is not a notarial act. We sign Section 2 as the employer's designated representative — no notary seal or stamp is applied to Form I-9. This is the correct procedure under USCIS rules.
Frequently asked questions
Can a notary complete my I-9?
Yes. An employer can designate almost anyone as the authorized representative to complete Section 2 — including a notary acting as a private agent. It is not a notarial act, so no seal is used.
Do I have to bring original documents?
Yes. The representative must physically examine your original, unexpired documents in person. Photocopies and photos are not acceptable. Bring either one document from List A, or one from List B plus one from List C.
Can you come to me or to our office?
Yes — mobile and on-site appointments are available for individuals and for employers onboarding multiple hires. Call or text 847-436-5222 to arrange it.
How fast is it?
The appointment takes about 15–20 minutes and we return the completed Section 2 to your employer the same day, within the 3-business-day federal deadline.
Is this legal for my remote job?
Yes. USCIS specifically allows employers to designate an authorized representative to complete Form I-9 on their behalf for remote and off-site hires. Your employer remains the responsible party; we complete the form accurately on their instructions.
We're an employer with several remote hires — can you handle volume?
Absolutely. We set up corporate accounts so your team can submit I-9 requests online and be invoiced, just like our fingerprinting accounts. Call or text 847-436-5222 or ask us about a corporate agreement.
