Who needs this?

ATF eForms processes an EFT electronic file faster than mailed cards, which is why we recommend it — but we’ll roll physical FD-258 cards if you file on paper.

How it works

  1. Call or text 847-436-5222 before you come in. Walk-ins are welcome, but because we also run mobile appointments, a quick call makes sure someone is at our Naperville location when you arrive.
  2. Bring your valid, unexpired Driver’s license. If your NFA item is held in a gun trust or company, bring your trust or entity paperwork so every responsible person can be printed.
  3. We capture your fingerprints and provide them the way you’re filing: an EFT electronic fingerprint file for ATF eForms (which the ATF processes faster), two FD-258 ink cards per person for a paper Form 1 or Form 4, or both.
  4. You upload the EFT file with your ATF eForms submission, or mail the FD-258 cards with your paper application. Efficient Biometrics captures the prints; we don’t file your ATF application.

After your prints are done

Efficient Biometrics captures your fingerprints and provides your EFT file and/or FD-258 cards. We do not file your application or receive your background-check results — the ATF or the issuing agency handles that.

How many FD-258 cards do I need?
A paper ATF filing needs two FD-258 cards per person. We can roll as many sets as your filing requires. An EFT file replaces the cards for ATF eForms.

My NFA item is in a gun trust — who gets fingerprinted?
Every responsible person on the trust — the settlor, all trustees, successor trustees, and any beneficiary with access — is fingerprinted individually. Bring your trust paperwork and we’ll print everyone.
